Senator Tim Kraayenbrink and his wife of 35 years, Sally, have three children: Jacy Jensen (and husband, Tim), Taylor (and wife, Ali) and Ben. They have one granddaughter, Avery. Senator Kraayenbrink and Sally have also been foster parents for ten years.

Senator Kraayenbrink is a small business owner of Kraayenbrink Financial Services in Fort Dodge since 2007. He has been a financial advisor since 1988, when he began working as a District Representative for Aid Association for Lutherans/Thrivent Financial.

From 1982-1988, Senator Kraayenbrink was a teacher in the Northwest Webster School District in Barnum, Iowa. While a high school industrial arts teacher, he also was head football coach and coached multiple other sports.

Senator Kraayenbrink and Sally are both originally from Paullina, Iowa. After graduating high school in 1978, he went on to attend Northern State College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He attended on a football scholarship and received a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education in 1982.

The Kraayenbrinks are active members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. Currently, Senator Kraayenbrink has served as a member of the Iowa District West Lutheran Church Endowment Committee. His past involvement has included serving as president of the congregation, on various boards and teaching Bible studies.

He also is a past member of the St. Edmonds School Finance Board and the St. Edmonds School Board.

Both Senator Kraayenbrink and his wife are very involved in various business and community leadership positions. They enjoy serving their community and helping make a positive impact in others’ lives.
