Senator Mark Chelgren was elected to the Iowa Senate in 2010. He has a degree in business management from Forbco Management school and attended the University of California at Riverside majoring in astro-physics, geo-physics and mathematics.
Senator Chelgren is the husband of Janet (Beisch) Chelgren. They have four children, four grandsons, and live in Ottumwa, Iowa, where Janet was born and raised. Senator Chelgren is an entrepreneur with multiple patents, primarily focused in health care, and is the President and CEO of Frog Legs INC., which he and his wife started in 1996.
Frog Legs INC. is a wheelchair parts manufacturing company with a mission of improving the lives of people with disabilities. In 2007, Senator Chelgren started Fizzix MFG. as a machine shop and purchased a California based urethane company that he relocated to Iowa.
