Nancy Boettger is an Assistant Republican Leader and was first elected to the Iowa Senate in 1994. Born and raised in Evanston, Illinois, Senator Boettger received her Bachelors Degree in sociology from Iowa State University and her B.A. in education from Buena Vista College.
She is very active in her community and is a member of P.E.O., National Foundation for Women Legislators, and Harlan First Baptist Church. She is on the boards of the U.S. Center for Citizen Diplomacy, American Baptist Homes of the Midwest Board of Directors, Midwest Higher Education Commission, Education Commission of the States, and the Iowa Prayer Breakfast. Together they host a farm bed and breakfast.
A former educator, Senator Boettger is now a farmer with her husband, Dave. They reside in Harlan and have four children and ten grandchildren.

Federal election law requires state parties to use best efforts to
report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer of
individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year. An
individual may not contribute more than a total of $10,000 per calendar
year to a combination of state, district and local parties. Federal law
prohibits contributions to the state parties from the general treasury
funds of a corporation, labor organizations or national banks (including
corporate or other business entity credit cards), from any person
contributing another’s funds, from a Federal government contractor, or
from a foreign national who lacks permanent resident status.
