Steve Kettering is currently the Minority Whip in the Iowa Senate and was first elected in 2003, winning a special election to fill the seat being vacated by Congressman Steve King. Previously a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 1998-2002, Senator Kettering, has worked to reform Iowa’s property tax structure and retain the state’s Right to Work status.
A resident of Lake View, Senator Kettering is president of Farmers State Bank. He is a graduate of Lake View Auburn High School and Buena Vista College. He then earned his Masters Degree from California State Long Beach.
Senator Kettering is a member of the Iowa Banker's Association, Iowa Independent Banker's Association, Lake View Community Club, and the American Legion.

Federal election law requires state parties to use best efforts to
report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer of
individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year. An
individual may not contribute more than a total of $10,000 per calendar
year to a combination of state, district and local parties. Federal law
prohibits contributions to the state parties from the general treasury
funds of a corporation, labor organizations or national banks (including
corporate or other business entity credit cards), from any person
contributing another’s funds, from a Federal government contractor, or
from a foreign national who lacks permanent resident status.
