Biographical Information
Shawn Hamerlinck is no stranger to politics having served two terms as a Davenport City Councilman. He was raised in West Davenport on the Ka-Sha-Ka Farm and is a lifelong resident of Scott County. He participated in 4-H for ten years and is a graduate of Davenport West High School, and earned his Bachelors Degree from Loras College. He went on to earn his Masters Degree from Loyola University in Chicago.
For the past several years Senator Hamerlinck has worked as a Youth Field Specialist in the Iowa State University Scott Country Extension office where he develops youth programming and oversees programs such as 4-H. In addition, Hamerlinck is an Adjunct Faculty Member at Augustana and Black Hawk College.
Senator Hamerlinck and his wife, Melissa, live in Davenport with their two sons, Ashton, age 4, and Bennett, under a year.
